The Single Best Approach Shoe of 2024
A Review By Glenn Young
After years of looking, my hunt for the best all-around approach shoe has finally been put to rest—at least for now—thanks to the Butora Mousai.
Why I like it:
- Extremely comfortable for hiking- even long distances with a pack (much better than the TX4, in my opinion)
- The wide toe box works perfectly for my wider feet
- Climbs remarkably well due to the highly sticky rubber, flexible sole under the toe, and sensitivity. Best for crack climbing and smearing—unexpected on first inspection.
- Sticks to wet rocks and wet logs (how!?)
- Very durable. It is still going strong after almost a year of abuse.
